I am Assistant Professor of English at Trinity University. I received my Ph.D. in comparative literature from Yale in 2019.

My scholarly articles have appeared or are forthcoming in New Literary History, Modernism/Modernity, Adaptation, and Critique. (The NLH essay won the 2020 Ralph Cohen Prize.) My academic reviews have appeared in Critical Inquiry.

On occasion, I contribute literary criticism to The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, and The New Republic. Some of these articles have been translated into Spanish, Persian, Italian, Tamil, Portuguese, and Azeri. I have also translated literary criticism from Spanish.

My research tends to address the experience of modernity in the non-Western world.
