Shaj Mathew is a Ph.D. candidate in comparative literature at Yale. His literary criticism has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, and The New Republic, among other venues. His scholarly articles have appeared in Critique, and his scholarly reviews have appeared in Critical Inquiry.
Mostly he writes on Persian, Turkish, Latin American, and U.S. literature and film.
