Shaj Mathew is a Ph.D. candidate in comparative literature at Yale. His literary criticism has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, and The New Republic, among other venues. His scholarly articles and reviews have appeared or are forthcoming in Critique and Critical Inquiry. 

Mostly he writes on literature from Turkey, Iran, Latin America, and the United States.
